May Birchbox

Happy Memorial Day! We just got back from Chicago visiting family and I'm exhausted....so this will be quick. I'm WAY behind on posting my May birchbox - partly because I'm super busy and the other because I wasn't too excited about this one.

Birchbox was celebrating Mom for the month of May with products that "will always be in style" as the card says. Below is what I received:

Stila eyeshadow in Dune - We all know that Stila makes great beauty products so I'll give this one a whirl. Not sure if this color will be a good fit for me though.

Bulgari Mon Jasmin Noir fragrance - I'm not a fan of perfume and really not a fan of this fragrance. Too strong for moi!

Archipelago Pomegranate soap - I love Archipelago candles so I'm sure I'll like this soap.

AHAVA Mineral hand cream - This is the only product I have tried thus far and I really like it. I used it in the car in Chicago and the boys said it smelled like baby wipes, haha! The girls disagreed - we couldn't put our fingers on it, but it reminded us of a fragrant flower we've all smelled while walking in our neighborhoods. And, my skin was super soft after using it.

Tiny Prints thank notecard - I am obsessed with Tiny Prints and have used them for years - from Christmas cards to birth announcements and birthday invitations. You can't go wrong with them and since I am out of stationary, I need to check out their site soon and order up!

And, my favorite product from my April Birchbox is...

This stuff is amazing! I love the lemony scent and it makes your skin feel sooooo soft after use. I feel like I'm scrubbing lemon mixed with sugar when I use this (I actually think those are the two main ingredients). And, I try not to change my facial product routine so I don't breakout, but even when I did using this product, no breakouts! This cleanser is awesome! Highly recommend it and I think I might buy the full size jar of this.

I can't believe May is officially over. This year is flying by.
 Hey June!

TGIF - An Apothecary Friday

Happy Friday! Two Fridays in a row, Seattle has had gorgeous weather! Even better, Ella's school got out early today so my day ended at 3 p.m. Yippee! I bought the Apothecary skirt weeks ago and have been waiting for warm weather so I could wear it. Today was the day.

Anthro cuff
Anthro Dearie Me wedges

I also passed on the Anthro sale this week. It was a total letdown. I went into my downtown store to try on the Taupe-Tied Booties, but they didn't have my size. I then gave customer service a try but it was too late in the night for them to research. So, I took that as "I don't really need these" and I can save up for staple items that won't be so memorable (let's face it, you can't wear those shoes all the time!).

Well, I better go enjoy the rest of this day as we are expecting rain starting tomorrow and the forecast isn't showing it stopping anytime soon:(

And, how cute is my little musician! She calls this her "pidano."
Have a great weekend!

If Anthro Were to Have a Red Tag Sale...

I would be looking for savings on -

I tried this on and it's really cute.

To my husband and checking account's delight, I'm actually not dying for too many items.

New items I like:
I think this could be a year round dress. Just throw on a cardi and tights in the winter to have a top/skirt look.

This skirt screams summer. Would be a nice addition to my closet:)

 I love the watercolor sash

A nice summer staple to have
Love the pattern

I love the fiery red color and the crisscross back. Would be cute with white jeans or tucked into a solid colored skirt.

Super cute tucked in a skirt

What do you think? What are you eyeing sale or new?

TGIF - Hydrangea Petals

I'm posting a day late but Happy belated Friday! All week I looked forward to Friday. Not because it meant the weekend was around the corner, but that Seattle was going to be 66 today - that's the warmest it's been in weeks. So given the unpredictable weather around here I decided no matter the outcome, I was wearing sandals. And, I was excited to wear the Hydrangea Petals maxi dress.

I love the soft colors, the ruffled hem, and it's super comfy. Although you can't tell, it is spaghetti strapped. The blue cardigan is definitely an oldie but goodie and I was excited it matched perfectly so I could wear it again.

Anthropologie Hydrangea Petals maxi dress (on sale here)
Banana Republic cardi (old)
Dolce Vita gold sandals
Leather cuff (gifted from my mom and dad; boutique in FL)

Have a great weekend! There's rumor of an Anthro tag sale starting any day now. It was amazing in December! I'll be posting the items I have my eye on. Stay tuned.

Memphis Flood

The Southeast cannot get a break. And now, my hometown of Memphis is facing a major flood. The river has crested at 48 feet -- a full 14 feet above Memphis' flood stage and just off the record of 48.7 feet set in 1937.

The pictures above only highlight the beginnings of what is to be major destruction. Please pray for all the families facing damage and loss in Tennessee and all the neighboring states that will also be facing destruction.

Disneyland

Well, we're back in Seattle and had such a fun time in Disneyland! I don't think I mentioned before, but this was our birthday present to Ella for her 2nd birthday. Not that she'll remember all of the excitement but she is such a huge fan of Princesses and Nemo that I believe she'll remember the important stuff.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the most magical place on Earth!

The beautiful Princess Belles!

The World Premiere of The Pirates of the Carribean On Stranger Tides was on Saturday. Very chaotic but pretty cool. We left the park before the real action began but there were fans camped out in their spot from the early hours until the evening premiere. Think lots of pirate-like Johnny Depp look alikes!

She loved the Teacups. I didn't remember them making you feel so nauseous!

Minnie is now her favorite character. And, you can't go to Disneyland and not have one of their yummy treats!!

 Our passed out Princess

Ella looked so adorable in her Princess Belle dress. Beauty and the Beast is definitely her favorite movie at the moment. I purchased her little dress off of Etsy by loverdoversclothing. They make the cutest aprons for adults and children's dresses. I highly recommend you check out their store!!

I packed all these cute clothes but spent 99.9% of my time in shorts, tanks, and my lululemon attire. So, no OOTWKND pics for me:(

Life Shots/OOTWKD

Hi there! Long time no post! It's been quite a busy week for me - my boss had a baby and was out all week so I had an extra load on my plate and my husband went to Wildflower, CA for a half Ironman and I played single Mom. I'm pretty exhausted from our amazingly fun weekend.

First, I can officially say we had our first full weekend of sun and pretty warm weather. It was awesome! I never even checked the temp but I believe we were in the high 60's and had 2 full days of lovely sunshine. I am in heaven!

Saturday, Ella Grace and I ran so many errands and then headed to a friend's little girl's 1st birthday. On our way home, we stopped downtown and hit Anthropologie (yes, I bought a few summer things as I was in the summery mood), bought some Mother's Day gifts, and had a yummy Mexican dinner, just us girls! We had so much fun!

Today, we walked to the local coffee shop and Ella played in the toys area there. We then headed to the park and enjoyed a good hour of swinging and running around. I was even brave and took our pug, Otis, with us. We then made a grocery stop, cleaned house, cut grass, pulled weeds and then Daddy was home. Talk about a busy day! I'm pooped!

Anyway, I happened to pull out my camera and tripod on Saturday with an attempt to take an "outfit of the weekend" shot. Did I mention how hard it is to take self portraits! I now realize why I don't do this often. So, here are my "life shots"...I just love the chaos in the background!

Anthropologie cardigan
Banana Republic tank
GAP wide legged trouser jeans here (size down 1 size)
Anthropologie Dearie Me wedges
Banana Republic woven cord necklace
Palabra Designs Angel necklace (Facebook page) - I never ever take this necklace off unless I have to for weddings:)
Diana Warner earrings

And the kiddos...

Ella in a Little English smocked dress
And Otis...in his own skin

Have a great week! We head to Disneyland on Thursday. I'll be sure to post some magical pictures upon our return.
