For the Culinary Challenged - Soppin' Shrimp

So, I really do not like cooking. In fact, I hate it. I don't have time and find no "peace" at deciding what we're going to eat each week, much less actually cook it. However, I do love to bake. Anything involving sweets is my friend. Ok, back to where I was getting at...

There are few things I cook. Here is a really easy one for those who love seafood, especially shrimp.

Grocery list
2 lbs. shrimp (1 lb is good for 2 people)
1 lemon
1 bay leaf (I use 3-4)
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. worcestershire sauce aka woosty sauce
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 1/2 Tbs. Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp. dried rosemary
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
french bread

I try to "lean" it up as much as I can so use alternatives for butter.

Place shrimp is 13x9 pan, top with lemon wedges and bay leaves.

Stir together all other ingredients on stove top.

Pour over shrimp.

Bake uncovered at 400 for 35 min (I did 20 for my shrimp because they were butterflied for easy peel) or until shrimp are pink stirring every 10 minutes. Warm up the french bread.

Now for the best part....wonder what "soppin'" means? That is the sauce all those yummy ingredients up above make. And, what you do is tear the bread into pieces, set in a bowl of the sop, get them nice and soggy, and eat them as you eat those scrumpious shrimp.

This is a family favorite for us and definitely something I call a tradition when we're at my parent's condo on the beach in FL. We always eat it 1 night while we're there. So good! You should try it.

Pinterest Finds - FOOD!

I piddle around on Pinterest every now and then and although I haven't created any boards yet, I've saved so many links of fun things I've found. Today's subject - FOOD! Below are some appetizer and dessert items I'm going to have to try.

I heart tomatoes.
I heart cheese.
And, I'm starting to like bread more and more everyday.
Mexican dishes are my fave.
Nothing is better than Guac and chips.
Anything with Guac + being prepared in a little muffin shape=awesome!

And, now we move to desserts. Have I mentioned I love desserts? If sweets didn't kill me, I would eat them for every meal, every day of my life!

About a month ago, as I was sitting in the chair chatting with my hairdresser about Easter candy, we both came to the consensus that I love all things marshmellow.
That's probably why I fell in love with the picture below.
I definitely want to make these. They remind me of s'mores.

Coconut is the best.
I know my Mom is going to drool over these when she sees this.

I love mousse desserts.
Nothing is better than finishing off dinner with what feels like a light dessert. I can walk away without feeling 1000 lbs.

I haven't tried any of these yet but if you fall in love with any and do, let me know!
